Course Description

Over the past century and a half, American writers have created a body of great literature that stands comparison with any in its variety, its depth of insight, the beauty of its prose and illumination it sheds into the depths of the human condition through a range of work from the marginalized in work by Langstone Hughes and Zora Hurston, to satire on society and human nature by Nathaniel West, Mark Twain and Ring Lardner. In so doing this course offers a mirror into the one’s own soul.
