BASC70062 - Summer Film Night – Social Issues

Course Description

This course is a discussion of films that address social issues such as wealth, poverty, family, gender, ethnicity, etc. For the first and last class we would view one film prior to class. The first class would allow for an introduction to the course along with reaching a consensus on the list of films for the course; while the last class would provide for a broader discussion of all the films viewed during the course. For the other four weeks, we would view two films prior to each class so that we could adequately discuss the films and view short clips during class, one film in each half of the class. Participants are welcome to bring snacks for the discussions.
