Course Description

Foreign policy has been central to the national experience of the United States, despite over being overlooked or misunderstood. In this course, designed to be the 2nd in a series of 3, we will look closely at historic patterns, core concepts and international relations theory to explore the tension between U.S. founding principles and power politics at the heart of U.S. foreign relations as the definition of U.S. national interests evolved and expanded along with its rise on the world stage throughout the 20th century.
