Course Description

The formula "beyond good and evil" is not, for Nietzsche, an invitation to immoralism but an injunction to reassess what it means to be moral - and therefore also what it means to be human - in light of his conviction that humanity, as it has hitherto been defined and understood, it no longer sustainable. The basis of this revaluation is the will to power. Beyond Good and Evil is his most comprehensive and far-reaching attempt at the revaluation of all values. "It is a book to reread and live with." (Kaufmann)
