Course Description

This course is designed for individuals who want to develop their writing skills to connect authentically with decision-makers and customers in the age of AI. The course will focus on teaching participants how to write effectively to stand out and be heard above the noise of machine-generated messaging. Over the course of eight weeks, participants will learn how to integrate their unique voice and writing style, as well as explore strategies to personalize writing to resonate with different audiences. Each week, there will be a lecture on a different aspect of human-centric business writing, followed by practical exercises to reinforce the concepts covered in the lecture.

This course is taught by Ashley Cisneros Mejia, an instructor at the University of Chicago Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies. Mejia is a writer, journalist and writing coach with 17 years of professional writing experience. Her client list includes a range of institutions, from Fortune 500 companies to regional nonprofits. Mejia was recognized by Orlando Business Journal’s 40 under 40 and is a Women Who Mean Business Honoree.
