Course Description

Writing for young people has taken the publishing world by storm. Thanks to bestsellers like Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, and the Twilight series, Young Adult and Middle Grade fiction are booming! In this course open writers of all levels, we’ll explore the art and craft of writing for young people. We’ll use in-class readings, discussion of fiction tools and techniques, and generative prompts to help spur your writing. Come learn about one of the most exciting genres in writing today and develop skills to shape your own compelling YA and middle-grade stories.
