Course Description

In the second year of the two-year "Modern Tradition" sequence, we explore themes of the persistence and transformations of religious faith, the nature and limits of scientific inquiry, and the perplexities and contradictions of freedom, as they are addressed in classic modern texts—both theoretical and literary—together with the reading of major works of modern drama.
