Course Description

This seminal novel by the Franco-Czech novelist, Milan Kundera, consists of several beautifully imagined stories taking place in the backdrop of the Prague Spring of 1968, which was followed by the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. Powerful insights into the mechanisms of totalitarianism are intertwined with reflections on human nature and the meaning of life.
