SORGLEAD2 - The common Denominator is you! Part 2: Managing Expectations, Conflict Resolution and Building High-Performing teams
Course Description
A dynamic team delivers breakthrough results well beyond what an individual can accomplish alone. Teamwork isn't easy. but when all members are contributing, the energy and productivity is contagious! Unfortunately, collective accomplishments can be hindered when the team is in conflict and/or they are unclear about their colleagues· or manager's expectations. There are few projects that are an absolute failure. In fact, most people declare success or failure based on their own individual expectations. It is possible for a project to fail, even if all the original goals were met, simply based on someone's different perception. As a result, unproductive consequences such as anxiety, anger, intimidation, blame, and resentment may ensue. Fortunately, conflict can be resolved in a healthy way that can bring important issues to light, foster innovation, and strengthen relationships with superiors, colleagues, friends and significant others.
Learning how to be explicit about expectations is essential to reducing conflict and building high-performing teams. Those who do know how to manage expectations are organized, intentional and direct in their communications. They establish a picture of what needs to change and sustain a culture of continuous improvement. Managing expectations can be difficult, and is indeed an underutilized skill.
This seminar builds off the TCDY Program (Part 1) and provides both theoretical and practical application techniques through the use of open dialogue, group work, and/or individual exercises.
