Course Description

Have you ever wanted to write a nonfiction book? There's always a market for good ideas and information on a variety of topics. Few aspiring authors, however, know how to construct a solid proposal for a nonfiction book. This class will offer the basics on how to structure a proposal and walk students through their own projects from an author/editor who has written and published seventeen books.

In this two-part class, students will first receive in-person guidance and proposal tips in a three-hour group session. For the second part of the class, students will send their best proposal attempts (five pages or less) to the instructor for a close reading and expert feedback aimed at helping your proposal succeed in the marketplace.
