Course Description

This course is designed as a sequel to the Archeology of Cinema course taught between June and August of this year, which is a prerequisite. The current course will take for granted the analysis of films discussed during the summer and will pair these films with others in an attempt to supplement and enrich the tentative conclusions already reached. Most sessions in the current sequence will be devoted to discussions of a single film, though in week 5 we will compare two classic examples of the genre "musicals."
