Course Description

In the Mitigating Cyber Risk in Governance course, students will learn the theoretical principles and language underpinning cyber risk mitigation, focusing in particular on the anatomy of cyber-attacks and defenses. The course will consider the impact of cyberattacks in both the private and public sectors, and learners will explore how cyber hygiene and policy play a role in each via real-world examples and case studies. This will entail building a comprehensive understanding of privacy laws and regulatory schemes for managing and mitigating risk. The course will conclude by bringing the theory, applications, and regulations together to provide learners with actionable insights and best practices so that they can implement these competencies in the workforce.
